The Beast was unstoppable tonight in the Rumble for a long time, before being eliminated due to the combined efforts of Ricochet and Drew McIntyre. At one point during Lesnar's destruction, Shelton Benjamin came in at #10 and it seemed like the former tag team partners were going to take over the match together. This didn't happen though, and Lesnar went on to eliminate his former friend.
Even before he made his way to the main roster back in the spring of 2002, Brock Lesnar spent some time in WWE's developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. During this stint, Lesnar formed a tandem with Shelton Benjamin (who was also his former college roommate) and the duo went on to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship on three different occasions. Lesnar and Benjamin have tons of history together, and it seemed that this would help the latter during the Rumble. Unfortunately for Benjamin, Lesnar didn't care much about their past association, and threw him over the top rope without showing any remorse.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
