WWE Hall of Famer Edge's shocking return tonight was the highlight of the Royal Rumble match. The return had been rumored for a long time now, and the rumors finally turned out to be true. WWE veteran Randy Orton came in at #25, and the fans got to witness a staredown for the ages. Orton and Edge reunited and eliminated two-thirds of The OC, following which the two had a wholesome chat in the middle of the ring.
Back in 2006, Triple H and Shawn Michaels reformed DX and took down the McMahons. Orton and Edge weren't thrilled with the reunion and decided to join forces to take down DX. Thus, Rated-RKO was formed, and the duo went on to have a months-long feud with DX, At New Year's Revolution 2007 the rivalry culminated in a match for the World Tag Team titles, with the match ending in a "no contest". Rated-RKO disbanded in May 2007, following Edge's move to SmackDown, which saw him cashing in the Money In The Bank briefcase on The Undertaker.

Given the opportunity to script WWE’s next big storyline, Abhilash would treat fans to the second installment of The Bloodline Civil War. He would book Roman Reigns to re-form The Bloodline with The Usos and Sami Zayn upon his comeback. The angle would see The Tribal Chief-led group go head-to-head with The Rock, Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu in a blockbuster family feud.
