2. WWE hoping for aggressive signings
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the WWE are aggressively trying to sign many wrestlers, and have even been talking to those under contracts with other promotions.
Whilst the Observer did not name who was involved, this strategy is nothing new, as WWE has been signing several top indie stars over the past decade, including Neville (PAC), Sami Zayn (El Generico), Kevin Owens (Kevin Steen), and Finn Balor (Prince Devitt).
However, this level of aggression in signing talent, especially those from other promotions, is more similar to the Monday Night Wars, with fans speculating about whether the WWE are seeing smaller promotions as more of a threat than they have in the past.
Most recently, WWE have signed Austrian-star WALTER to a contract, with the Progress World Champion reportedly being part of "WWE's European expansion plans."
