Speaking in an interview on NotSam Wrestling in 2019, Braun Strowman gave a fascinating insight into how frustrated he was with his role in WWE earlier in the year.

Braun Strowman was originally supposed to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the 2019 Royal Rumble but he was replaced in the match by Finn Balor.

In storyline, Vince McMahon removed Braun Strowman from the match after he tore a door off the WWE Chairman’s limousine. In reality, The Monster Among Men was “miserable” around this stage of his career and he wanted to speak to his boss shortly after the Royal Rumble.

McMahon decided to kick everyone out of a production meeting two hours before an episode of RAW and he reassured Braun Strowman about his future with the company during a 45-minute, heart-to-heart conversation.

“Vince doesn’t get the credit that is due to him. He’s an unbelievable man and I’m fortunate to not only work for him but to also call him my friend.”

Braun Strowman added that he stopped worrying about his role in WWE after that conversation with McMahon.
