5 WWE stars who can move to SmackDown before the end of 2024

The introduction of the "transfer portal/window" on last week's WWE SmackDown opened up several possibilities. With RAW's move to Netflix in January, officials are looking to reshuffle the rosters of all three brands.

Several stars could do with a change to reset feuds up and down the card. Those who have consistently challenged for championships could provide new challenges for current titleholders.

If some roster shuffling occurs before the end of 2024, the next five RAW stars could move to SmackDown through the transfer portal.

#5. Zoey Stark is in the same spot

Zoey Stark has essentially been in the same spot throughout her two years on the main roster. She's a top-notch in-ring worker but doesn't have much of a personality.

Her work with Trish Stratus helped her out. Allying with the Pure Fusion Collective has done nothing to help her fortunes. The group talks a big game but is always booked to lose.

If she can get out from under the PFC, a move to SmackDown could help. Stark just needs a chance and a better character. Lyra Valkyria was in a similar boat after coming up from NXT but has already connected with the WWE Universe.

#4. Damian Priest could stand alone on SmackDown

One star who could use a change of scenery from RAW is Damian Priest. He was the World Heavyweight Champion for much of 2024 but lost it once The Judgment Day turned on him.

Finn Balor cost him the title twice, but he's continued his pursuit to regain the championship he was cheated out of. After some chicanery on RAW, Priest gets another shot to win back the title at Saturday Night's Main Event.

If he is unsuccessful, a move to SmackDown could refresh his chances. It would also get him away from The Judgment Day on RAW, giving him different feuds.

#3. American Made already teased a move

The first shot fired in the transfer portal announcement involved Chad Gable and American Made. The RAW faction trotted out in suits on last week's SmackDown but was hard to take seriously due to their high school jock nature.

Gable shared the ring with Cody Rhodes to both start and end the show. The group spoke with general manager Nick Aldis, teasing a potential move from RAW.

Rhodes beat Gable, but the former Olympian has always been a reliable performer. American Made has feuded with many of the groups on RAW and a move to SmackDown could open up more opportunities to advance.

#2. Drew McIntyre burned 2024 to the ground

McIntyre is another former WWE Champion who could use a move to SmackDown. Over the last two years, he’s battled CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, Gunther, Sami Zayn, and Jey Uso.

If some big names move brands, McIntyre would make sense as someone to go to SmackDown. He could challenge Cody Rhodes at any of the upcoming PLEs. His star power could also carry the brand if a title change occurs. Getting revenge on Roman Reigns would be an easy angle to write.

The Scottish Warrior could also team up with Kevin Owens since the Bloodline toyed with both over the last four years. The group drastically changed the course of many stars' careers with constant interference and attacks.

#1. Rhea Ripley is one of wrestling's top stars

Rhea Ripley has been the focal point of RAW's women’s division for the last year, even when she wasn’t the champion. She’s faced Liv Morgan many times already, and the feud must end soon.

Sending her to SmackDown before RAW moves to Netflix would achieve that. She’s still one of the top faces in WWE. To offset her loss, Bianca Belair could go to RAW.

Ripley would have some new faces to tangle with on Friday Nights, especially if some heel and face turns upend the current dynamics in the division.
