The WWE Universe touted Keith Lee as a future champion following his arrival on WWE RAW last year. The seeds for his popularity with the main roster fans were sown even earlier thanks to his performances at the Royal Rumble and Survivor Series pay-per-views during his time on the NXT roster.

Many WWE fans would have expected him to win the world title in 2021, but it hasn't happened so far as the former NXT Champion has been on the sidelines.

Lee hasn't been on WWE television since February and many WWE fans have feared the worst - that WWE's top hierarchy does not see anything in him. Lee's cryptic social media posts have worried fans even more.

But recent reports have suggested that Lee is, in fact, injured:

"The basic gist is that Lee is not medically cleared, and he's made the decision to keep that private at this point."

Lee's last appearance in WWE seems like a lifetime ago. He was set to face Bobby Lashley, then US Champion, and Riddle at Elimination Chamber. But he had to pull out of the match due to his injury.
