Thanks to victories against John Cena, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton has as many wins as losses in Hell in a Cell matches.

His first defeat came at Armageddon 2005 in the culmination of a nine-month feud with The Undertaker. Randy had his father, WWE Hall of Famer "Cowboy" Bob Orton, at ringside for the match, but he was unsuccessful against "The Deadman", and both he and his father were on the receiving end of tombstone piledrivers.

It was another six years before “The Viper” would lose again in a Hell in a Cell match, with Mark Henry retaining his World Heavyweight Championship at the 2011 event; another three years later, he was defeated by Cena inside the demonic structure in a number one contender match for Brock Lesnar’s WWE title.
