Mickie James was often in Alexa Bliss' shadow

Alexa Bliss' former tag team partner Mickie James underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in July 2019 and she is yet to return to WWE television as an in-ring competitor.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet earlier in July, the five-time WWE Women’s Champion and one-time WWE Divas Champion said she has been cleared to return to action. However, she has not been present at the Performance Center because she does not want to take any COVID-19 risks if she is not needed on any shows right now.

“There’s no need to take that risk of going there if I’m not doing anything. I would rather bide my time and wait for the perfect opportunity.”

A former ally and enemy of Alexa Bliss, James is certainly a marquee name in WWE and it would make sense for her to be reintroduced to WWE programming in a storyline with the host of “A Moment of Bliss”.

After all, Alexa Bliss was known for betraying her best friends, including James, before aligning with Nikki Cross in 2019, so there is a ready-made storyline in place if WWE decides to go down that route.
