#2. Shawn Michaels even put his career on the line to end the streak
Shawn Michaels embarked on a journey to end The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak. He put on a great challenge against The Deadman at WrestleMania XXVI to no gain.
Michaels then challenged the latter for a rematch the following year. The Phenom accepted the match with the stipulation that Michaels had to put his career on the line against Taker's streak, which HBK accepted.

This was probably the only time where the crowd was divided in an Undertaker WrestleMania match. Many wrestling and Michaels' fans wanted him to continue with his career but couldn't watch the Phenom lose either.
All this led to a fantastic match where the streak survived yet again but came incredibly close to ending.
#1. Triple H with Shawn Michaels as guest referee seemed like the duo made to end the streak
When Michaels failed to end Taker's streak, his best friend took upon the duty. Triple H squared off against The Last Outlaw at WrestleMania 27 in a no-holds-barred match. After he succeeded in performing a tombstone piledriver on Taker, many thought that was it.
However, The Undertaker somehow managed to win the match. The Cerebral Assassin challenged The Deadman at the next year's event. This time, Shawn Michaels took on the role of referee, stacking the odds against The Minister of Darkness.
The match featured the moment when the streak was closest to being over. Michaels gave a Sweet Chin Music to Taker, followed by a pedigree from Triple H. HBK, then started a fast pinfall. However, the Undertaker kicked out to everyone's surprise.
In the climax, Michaels finally did a fair count to award the victory to The Undertaker, marking the end of an era. It cannot be denied that defeat was moments away for The Phenom in this match.
