#2 Sabu borrowed ring gear from Shawn Daivari (WWE event)
Best known for his work in ECW, Sabu competed in 37 televised WWE matches between June 2006 and May 2007. The majority of those matches took place as part of WWE’s revamped ECW brand, which also featured Shawn Daivari.
At the time, Sabu was considered to be a veteran in the wrestling business. Daivari, meanwhile, had already shared the ring with the likes of Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels, but he was still making his way in WWE.
Following his departure from WWE in October 2007, Daivari discussed his time with the company in an interview with In Your Head Wrestling Online. The former WWE Superstar revealed during the interview that he once allowed Sabu to borrow his gear for a match.
"Brian asks if it was true Sabu borrowed his ring gear when it was lost. Shawn says yes the airlines lost them and he let Sabu borrow his gear, it happens a lot." [H/T Wrestling Figs]
After appearing in a segment at the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018, Daivari returned to the company as a producer in 2019. He was released in 2020 as a cost-cutting measure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Both Daivari, 36, and Sabu, 55, have competed in matches outside of WWE in 2020.
