Kofi Kingston had an incredible showing at WWE Elimination Chamber 2019, where he almost won the WWE Championship. That bout led Kofi to WrestleMania 35, where he finally became the world champion for the first time in his career. While his momentum has considerably slowed down since then, he has a chance to become the WWE Champion yet again this weekend.

Kofi Kingston and his New Day stablemate Xavier Woods have been involved in a feud with RETRIBUTION on WWE RAW. The leader of the stable, Mustafa Ali, has repeatedly said that Kofi took his spot in the Elimination Chamber match in 2019. If Ali costs Kofi Kingston his chance to become WWE Champion, it would make all the sense in the world.

Other members of RETRIBUTION can show up to distract Kofi, and then Ali can attack him from behind, allowing some other participant in the match to eliminate him. It would generate plenty of heel heat for Ali, making a WrestleMania match between the two must-see television.
