Angel Garza came to WWE in 2019 after many years on the independent wrestling scene. The star appeared on NXT and 205 Live, and shortly into his WWE career he won the NXT Cruiserweight Championship from Lio Rush.

After a short reign with the NXT Cruiserweight Championship, Garza made his debut on RAW, in February 2020. The star aligned with Zelina Vega's group on RAW alongside former United States Champion Andrade. The heel group targeted Garza's cousin Humberto Carillo and Rey Mysterio, and later Akira Tozawa.

As a duo, Angel Garza and Andrade competed for tag team gold on a handful of occasions. They took aim at both The Viking Raiders and The Street Profits, making their intentions to capture the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships clear. However, infighting between Andrade and Garza led them to split without winning a championship together.

Since the split, Angel Garza has been working as a singles star on WWE Monday Night RAW. The performer has been seen more in backstage segments discussing his secret admirer and attempting to romance the women of RAW. He also was briefly a 24/7 Champion.

Given Garza's high level of in-ring talent, and his unique finishing move, the Wingclipper, it feels as though he should be much higher up the card. Hopefully, Angel Garza will receive more recognition for his talent in 2021.
