Matt Hardy has been absent from the last few 24/7 angles, but Hardy was very much present in the first weeks of the 24/7 title, chasing the reigning titleholder along with a pack of mid-card WWE Superstars.
Since Matt's brother has been off TV due to injury, Matt Hardy has had no substantial role on WWE TV other than chasing after the 24/7 title, and it appears as if Hardy also has no clear character at the moment.
Before Matt Hardy took time off from WWE TV to evaluate the future of his career after years of mounting injuries, Hardy was the "Woken" version of himself, and he was teaming with Bray Wyatt. However, upon returning to WWE TV, Hardy ditched a majority of the Woken gimmick and reunited with Jeff to reform The Hardy Boyz. Since Jeff has been off TV, Matt has had no direction or character focus at all, leaving his WWE future very much in question.
