AJ Styles and Samoa Joe have known each other for years
During AJ Styles' time in Bullet Club, The Phenomenal One didn't do much talking and that department was mostly taken care by tag team specialist Karl Anderson. The Machine Gun was already a popular figure in Japan and being a member of BC since its initial days also added a lot to his resume. Hence, the former IWGP Tag Team Champion was able to connect with the Japanese audience better than Styles ever could.

That is probably the reason why NJPW decided to have Anderson as the promo guy for Bullet Club mostly. AJ Styles did all the talking in the ring and also ended up winning the IWGP Heavyweight Title on two occasions. In similar fashion, Samoa Joe could align himself with The Phenomenal One in WWE, especially given the long history between the two former TNA veterans.

Not only would Joe be an outstanding addition to the group, but he could easily adapt to his role as the promo guy of the faction. That's something that MVP has been doing for The Hurt Business lately.
