Rey Mysterio has four previous victories at the second-biggest event of the year. He defeated Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler in singles action. He also teamed up with John Morrison & Kofi Kingston to defeat Alberto Del Rio, R-Truth, and The Miz in a six-person tag team match.
Despite this, the Ultimate Underdog has more losses than wins at SummerSlam. His first defeat came in 2002 against Kurt Angle. Two years later, he lost a six-person tag team match alongside Billy Kidman and Paul London against The Dudleyz. His third loss came against Chavo Guerrero in 2006.

At SummerSlam 2010, Mysterio challenged World Heavyweight Champion Kane for the title but came up short. He also came up short when he challenged The Miz for the Intercontinental Title in 2012.
Rey Mysterio has not competed at WWE SummerSlam since his defeat against The Miz. Will he finally return to The Biggest Party of the Summer this year?
