Nikki Bella has had a few romantic relationships in recent years, the most notable being her engagement with former WWE Champion John Cena. However, before she became famous, the former WWE Divas Champion fell in love with one of her high school colleagues. The couple secretly got married in the early 2000s, but got divorced only three years later.
"I got married when I was 20. And got divorced at 23, to my high school sweetheart. Basically we got married by Elvis. We drove to Vegas, did it," she told her family on Total Divas.

Bella also explained to her family that she knew she was making a mistake as soon as she started walking down the aisle. She tried to get out of the marriage but could not.
"Even when I started walking down the aisle, I knew this was a huge mistake and how can I get out of it and I couldn’t," the WWE Hall of Famer added.
The 38-year-old also wrote about her first marriage in The Bella Twins' book Incomparable. The WWE Hall of Famer stated that she never lived with her first husband or took his last name.
The WWE Hall of Famer is currently engaged to Russian dancer Artem Chigvintsev. The couple welcomed their first child in July 2020.
