#1. Curtis Axel
Curtis Axel is a former Intercontinental Champion in WWE, but was released from the company on April 30th as part of the budget cuts surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.
Axel was pushed numerous times by WWE and at one point was even aligned with Paul Heyman to boost him up the ladder in the company, but it didn't appear to be a good fit for the duo.
Axel was seemingly a step ahead of the competition in his early career as the son of WWE Hall of Famer Mr. Perfect, but this didn't do the star any favors in his wrestling career. Axel chose his ring name based on his father and grandfather, using "Curt" from his father, and "The Axe" from Larry Hennig, who wrestled throughout the 1960s.
Axel, much like Bo Dallas was a forgotten member of the roster throughout his time on both RAW and SmackDown, but was unable to make any kind of impact alongside Dallas in the Tag Team Division.
Both Mr. Perfect and Curtis Axel were able to reign as Intercontinental Champions throughout their careers, but this was seemingly the highlight of Axel's career in WWE.
