Edge made a return to in-ring action earlier this year during the 2020 men's Royal Rumble match. He then went on to have two matches against Randy Orton - the first coming at WrestleMania 36, and the latest one at Backlash.

But, just a few months after his return to the ring, Edge has suffered an injury. WWE released a statement on Edge's injury following his match against Orton:

"WWE Digital has confirmed that Edge suffered a torn triceps as a result of injuries sustained during The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. Edge has undergone successful surgery and is currently rehabbing at home."

Dave Meltzer has given us an update on Edge's injury and revealed how long the WWE Hall of Famer and former WWE Champion will be on the sidelines for:

"Edge actually had surgery to reattach the triceps muscle to the bone before the match aired. Generally that’s six-to-eight months of recovery, and will likely lead to another match."

This means that the Rated-R Superstar will most likely miss the rest of the year, and we could potentially see him return at next year's Royal Rumble.
