Mercedes Martinez is a veteran of the wrestling business and was recently promoted to WWE's main roster, before opting to return to NXT.

She made her wrestling debut back in 2000. Although Martinez has made several appearances for the company over the years, she wasn't signed to a contract until last year.

During her time on the main roster, Mercedes Martinez was part of RETRIBUTION, a WWE faction that also consisted of Reckoning, Slapjack, T-Bar, Mace, and Mustafa Ali. However, she eventually requested a return to NXT rather than a full promotion as part of the group back in 2020.

Ahead of her move to WWE, Martinez was part of a viral video where it was revealed that she was openly a lesbian. The video also discussed her childhood and how wrestling was her escape from bullying.

The current NXT Superstar has a son, who was born back in 2009. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Martinez tweeted last year that she had asthma and her son was immunocompromised.
