#2. Rey Mysterio and Edge could put on a terrific match to end the legend’s WWE career

Much like Rey Mysterio, Edge is another living legend fighting his final battles in WWE. The two are still fit and are giving the younger guys a run for their money.

However, both men know that they will have to hang up their boots one day or another. Edge and Mysterio are good friends, and The Rated-R Superstar has credited the masked superstar for helping him return to the ring.

Appearing on The Kurt Angle Show, Edge spoke about Mysterio’s WWE Hall of Fame-worthy career:

"Rey Mysterio, I mean, he gets credit, but it's still not the credit he deserves. It really isn't, and I think because he has been so consistent for so long that he has not appreciated to his full extent. I don't know if he will be fully appreciated until he retires, and I think that's where people will realize. When there is no Rey Mysterio on the show, but wait, 'We need Rey.' And I think as a writer, as a company, and I think as a fan, and I think as a colleague, although colleagues and peers appreciate him more than anyone else because they truly, fully grasp and understand it.”

Edge knows what it means to retire, and he could work a great program with Rey Mysterio to end his career in WWE. A heel Edge vs. Mysterio could turn out to be an iconic final rivalry for The Master of the 619.

It could then lead to a rivalry between Dominik Mysterio and Edge that could give the young superstar a big push.
