According to reports, The Role Model was training with another WWE Superstar when her knee popped. Preliminary backstage reports suggest she may have suffered a torn ACL. WWE confirmed Bayley could be out of action for nine months.
The former SmackDown Women's Champion addressed her injury in a promo on SmackDown. She blamed the WWE Universe for her setback:
"You don't care at all! You don't care that I'm hurt, I did this to get better for Money in the Bank, I did this to be the best, I did this for you!" Bayley said. "So this? Yeah, this is all your fault! And I don't give a damn who they put in my place because they are not as good as me."
Bayley's injury came at a bad time as she was about to face Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women's Championship at Money in the Bank. WWE canceled the match and scheduled another between Belair and Carmella for the title next Friday on the blue brand instead.
