Finn Balor was the first WWE star to wrestle The Fiend in a one-on-one match back at SummerSlam in 2019 and has since been sent back down to NXT. Balor's altercation with The Fiend changed his personality entirely and WWE hasn't seen him become The Demon King in almost two years.
Balor can't remain in NXT forever, at some point the former Universal Champion needs to return to WWE's main roster and face his fears.

Balor is the current NXT Champion, but if he was to drop the title ahead of WrestleMania then he could return to the main roster and challenge The Fiend to one more match.
Now that The Fiend has been weakened by Randy Orton, Balor could see himself having a much better chance of defeating the former Universal Champion and decide that now is the best time to strike.
Interestingly, Balor didn't bring The Demon King to SummerSlam back in 2019, which could have opened the door for the star to bring back his own alter-ego at some point and finally be able to overcome The Fiend.
