#2 William Regal
Fans of today may know William Regal as the General Manager of NXT, but there was a time where the Blackpool-born star was known as one of the toughest men in WWE.
Whilst he never reached the main event scene (partly because of real-life issues), Regal is a known tough-guy, growing up on the hard-hitting UK circuit when he was still a teenager.
Upon moving to the United States in the early 90s, Regal would continue getting tougher, as he used his southpaw style (a method taught to all UK wrestlers) to eventually land a job in WCW.
A testament of his toughness came when Regal faced off against Bill Goldberg, where the pair descended into a near-shoot style match, which saw the smaller Regal dominate over the future WWE Universal Champion.
