WWE Superstars portray characters on-screen that are often larger than life, but even though many of these stars base their characters on their own personalities, they don't always work out.
Wrestlers are repackaged all the time and come back looking better than ever thanks to this fresh boost. There are a number of stars on the WWE roster right now who desperately need a change of image, character or gimmick in order to regain the attention that they once had.
A change of gimmick can kickstart the career of any WWE star and the following list looks at just five stars who desperately need that injection of originality in order to refresh their personality.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#5 Bayley
Bayley's character worked so well on NXT when she was seen as the underdog throughout her feud with Sasha Banks, but ever since Bayley has been brought up to the main roster, she has been on a steady decline.
The former Women's Champion had one of the worst reigns on Raw in recent years and was then completely dominated by Alexa Bliss, something she has been unable to come back from over the past year.
The Sasha Banks/Bayley storyline has been milked for all it's worth in recent months and it's ruining both of the women's careers currently. The best thing that WWE can do is make the decision to turn one of them heel permanently or take Bayley off the TV so that she can be repackaged.
#4 Jason Jordan
Jason Jordan has been out of action for the best part of 2018 following neck surgery, but it was reported that the former Tag Team Champion was backstage at Raw this week, prepared to return to action.
It is hoped that when Jordan does make his return, he isn't thrust into the spotlight as "Kurt Angle's son" again. Jordan was a fantastic Tag Team wrestler and was able to become the first ever triple crown Tag Team Champion because of this. There is no doubting the fact that Jordan is a fantastic wrestler and his matches against some of Raw's elite last year definitely proved this, but his character just didn't work.
Jordan needs to become an underdog again so that he can overcome the odds in the ring like he used to. Being cocky doesn't suit him so a face return could be interesting.
#3 Dana Brooke
Dana Brooke came into NXT as one of the hottest stars in the Women's Division as a former bodybuilder, but after she was brought up to the main roster as part of a storyline with Charlotte Flair, Brooke was just seen as a jobber.
She's currently stuck in a storyline with Titus Worldwide, a team that has easily become a joke and knowing that the last time the WWE Universe saw Dana, she showed some real improvements in the ring, why can't she branch off?
A heel turn for the former NXT star could be an interesting change for Brooke, especially since the Women's Division is at its peak at the moment and she deserves to be involved.
#2 Randy Orton
Randy Orton is one of the biggest stars that the WWE has created over the past few decades and somehow he has always been able to redevelop himself to always get over with the WWE Universe.
That has changed recently since Orton hasn't been on the same level since he was WWE Champion and even his recent United States Championship reign didn't show him in the best light. Orton was always better as a heel and if he can become The Apex Predator of The Viper once more, then that would definitely allow him to have an interesting last run in WWE before his definite future Hall of Fame induction.
#1 Apollo Crews
Apollo Crews is a star who had a lot of potential whilst he was working in NXT and was seen as one of the guys who were Triple H's favorites. Apollo's promotion to the main roster was one of the worst things to happen to him since he's another star who has been on a steady decline.
Crews has been pushed into a team with Titus O'Neil over the past year and ever since that botch at The Greatest Royal Rumble, the team has definitely become a joke and Crews could be the one who comes off worse.
The sad part is, that Apollo is a talented star and can do things that no one else can and it's a shame that WWE are wasting him in a team with someone like O'Neil. It's obvious that Crews wouldn't work as a heel, but he could move over to SmackDown alone and look at kickstarting his career in a team with someone else.
