Bobby Lashley has had a major slip in momentum over the last six months, but things could be changing for the better. According to Tom Colohue, Bobby Lashley is being built back up to be Brock Lesnar's next potential opponent.

If he is set to face Lesnar, then it's going to take a lot of momentum for him to become a credible opponent again. However, we've seen in many cases before that all it takes is a hot winning streak and good booking for a Superstar to become credible again.

Just look at Bayley last year. She spent two full years doing nothing significant (minus a short reign as the inaugural Women's Tag Team Champions) before her momentum recovered, leading to an incredible 2019 for The Hugger.

Bobby Lashley hasn't been in that bad a position either, so a match against Edge would instantly raise his stock. It could be advertised as a "Spear vs Spear" match, which was what Goldberg vs Roman Reigns was supposed to be at WrestleMania 36.

Whether or not he should beat Edge is a whole different matter. If WWE wants to build him to face Lesnar, he might just need the win.
