There are very few women on Raw, SmackDown Live or NXT who are as talented as Becky Lynch inside the squared circle, yet she didn’t have a single meaningful storyline in 2017 and is often underutilised by WWE.
When she returns to our screens after filming The Marine 6: Close Quarters, she’ll be among the contenders to win the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble but, as is the way when the Irish underdog is involved in high-profile matches, she is unlikely to be victorious.
Realistically, she isn’t a big enough star to fill the beastly shoes of Lesnar on her own, but if WWE decides to send her down the heel route again, they could do worse than add her to Paul Heyman’s list of clients.
Becky is one of the few believable faces in the women’s division but those who saw her in NXT will know that she’s a pretty good heel too.
