5 WWE Superstars who could be the next Undertaker

The eerie remains of The Deadman...

We are just days away from Wrestlemania 34 and it appears that we are all but locked in to see The Undertaker accept John Cena's impromptu challenge to face-off on the grandest stage of them all, live in New Orleans on April 8, 2018, inside the Mercedes Benz Superdome. With that said, the 53-year old phenom has been awfully quiet so far this year, but then again, being mysteriously quiet and reserved has always been a part of his persona and it's worked for 34 years now, so who am I to question him?

As previously mentioned The Undertaker just turned 53 a couple of days ago and as much as I would love to act as if mortality doesn't affect The Deadman, the fact remains that one day soon, Father-time is certainly working on The Undertaker and eventually, he will be forced to hang the boots up one last time, for good and when that day finally comes, there will be a void left behind, a tremendous void that will never be filled by anyone.

While there will never be another Taker, there certainly should be at the very least, an attempt to carry on his legacy, but who will it be? Who can step up, who has what it takes to carry-on the spirit of what The Undertaker created?

With this said, let me make it crystal clear- there will NEVER be another Undertaker. The Creator broke the mould when The Undertaker was created. However, there will be someone who will come along with enough in common with Taker, that they could very well give fans a brief glimpse back at what once was The Undertaker.

Here's a look at 5 WWE Superstars that could fill the shoes and become "the next Undertaker."

#5 Bray Wyatt

Don't give up just yet.

There is certainly a season of change occurring somewhere in Brooksville, Florida, where Windham Rotunda resides. The 30-year old third-generation WWE Superstar is fresh off of an interesting feud with Matt Hardy, a feud in which many fans believe could have ended the Bray Wyatt persona for good.

Following Bray's loss to Matt Hardy, there was a lot of emphasis on how Wyatt was tossed into "the lake of reincarnation." Of course, we all are aware that the term 'reincarnation' refers to someone being reborn into a new body, or perhaps in this case- a new character for Windham Rotunda.

I'll be the first to admit, I am not a fan of the idea of Bray Wyatt being repackaged at all. I feel that there was so much work and effort put into Windham being repackaged from Husky Harris-to-Bray Wyatt and that it would really be a shame if we lose the incredibly gifted Wyatt persona. It is my personal opinion that Bray Wyatt should come back, stronger and darker than ever. The ceiling was so high for that moniker, I just cannot wrap my mind around wasting what was such an incredible character.

Nonetheless, Rotunda will return, hopefully, sooner than later. Some say he may return as a revamped Husky Harris, while others have suggested he come back in the character which his father once portrayed- "I.R.S." Both of those ideas are absolute garbage, in my opinion. Regardless what they decide, I hope the decision doesn't result in ultimate career suicide, because as I have repeatedly said, there is so much untapped potential in the Bray Wyatt persona. If someone wakes up and acknowledges that a grave decision is about to be made and they revert back to leaving the Wyatt character in-tact, then we can move forward and yes, that very character, combined with the creative genius that Windham is, can surely make a run as someone who could do Takers legacy justice.

#4 Lars Sullivan

Half man, half monster.

NXT has remained chaulked full of quality talent, ever since the doors flew open on July 31, 2014. It has been 4 years of steady success, which has never been compromised by top talent leaving for the main roster. It seems as if the yellow brand is a never-ending revolving door of top-tier superstars. With that said, the current NXT roster could be in store for yet another departure, if Lars Sullivan is plucked away to add some muscle to one of the main rosters.

If you look at Sullivan, the first thing you notice is his mere monstrous size and his presence of total intimidation. This is something that he shares with Taker, which was also a couple of valuable assets the Deadman has relied on throughout his storied career.

#3 Killian Dain

Killian is making moves in Orlando!!

What a diamond in the rough this guy was when WWE landed this tremendous signee. A lot of his fans from early on in his career remember him best as "Damo" or "Big Damo" during his time in the Scottish wrestling scene.

When you take a first look at Dain, you see a man...a real man. You see a big, burly, hairy monster of a man. He's certainly not a mirror image of The Undertaker. In fact, he doesn't resemble someone who spends much time working on his aesthetic appearance at all.But then again, monsters aren't typically very pretty creatures, to begin with.

At the end of the day, Killian has two good decades left in him, as long as he avoids major injuries and lives a decent life. During those 2 decades, a lot can be accomplished, but a lot can be squandered as well. The ball will soon be in Dain's court. Once he gets elevated to the main roster, we will then get the opportunity to see exactly how well he stacks up with some of the best talents in the world.

#2 Baron Corbin

Corbin is poised for a big run in 2018!

I have followed Baron Corbin very closely ever since his initial signing in 2012. I was intrigued by Corbin, primarily due to his size and athletic background. However, it didn't take long for me to start doubting his potential. The reason for this was because of the obvious overgrowth of a chip on his shoulder. There is a difference between being confident and being cocky, Baron Corbin was a cocky jerk in the beginning. So much so, that I thought it would eventually cost him his career. Thankfully, someone got in his ear and convinced him that he was only holding himself back from a bright future.

Once Corbin realized he was a fish out of water in the sport of professional wrestling, it appeared that he began to change and carry himself much better. This translated into a quickly improving performer in the ring.

Once Corbin arrived on the main roster, his progress continued and he fast-tracked himself all the way to the top the roster. He is a much better performer today than he was just a couple of years ago and his future has never looked so good. Corbin has a very similar look to that of The Undertaker. While he may give up a few inches in height to Taker, he still stands pretty close to nose-to-nose with The Deadman and if he continues to get better not only inside the ring but outside as well, he may be the one they go-to in the future when in need of someone to do Takers legacy justice.

#1 Braun Strowman

Get these hands

It's hard to believe it's been 3-years since Braun Strowman broke onto the scene as a Superstar on WWE's main roster. Braun first debuted as the newest henchman for Bray Wyatt's Wyatt Family and he immediately made an impact.

As Strowman's singles career took off post-Wyatt Family, more and more opportunities started to flow in his direction. The former powerlifter-turned professional wrestler has now made improvements that no one could have ever imagined, especially for someone who came into the business with no experience whatsoever.

As we inch closer to Wrestlemania, Braun Strowman is set to take on Sheamus and Cesaro for the WWE Tag Team Titles, with Braun yet to pick a mystery tag team partner. For some, this is a letdown from what they originally expected, which was a main event bout against Brock Lesnar, with the Universal Championship on the line. However, anything can happen at Wrestlemania.

If anyone at this point is capable of filling the boots that Taker leaves behind, it has to be the self-proclaimed Monster Among Men.
