5 WWE Superstars who defeated Roman Reigns clean

Reigns has lost only a few times
Reigns has lost only a few times

Roman Reigns is one of the biggest superstars WWE has produced in the last ten years. He was positioned as the next John Cena to become the face of the company. Roman Reigns main-evented four WrestleManias in a row, which is a feat surpassed only by the immortal Hulk Hogan.

Roman Reigns' unfortunate break due to his illness has definitely put the plans to make him the face on hold, but does not diminish the success he achieved on the main roster. Very few superstars hold the status of defeating Reigns without any shenanigans.

Roman Reigns main-evented four WrestleManias, and won just two of them, but his presence did leave a mark on WWE history. We never know when and if Reigns will ever come back to the WWE ring, but he has already carved a fine legacy for himself in six years.

We look at five superstars who hold the rare privilege of defeating Roman Reigns clean.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

#5 Brock Lesnar

Is this a surprise?

Brock Lesnar defeated the likes of Rock, Hulk Hogan, and Goldberg in his very first year in WWE. He went on to end Undertaker's legendary streak at WrestleMania 30, and defeated John Cena in a never seen before manner at SummerSlam 2014.

Brock Lesnar has defeated Roman Reigns quite a few times in his quest for the Universal title, but the biggest blow came during the WrestleMania main-event this year. Nobody predicted a win for Lesnar, but The Beast came out on top to retain his title against Reigns.

Lesnar also defeated Reigns at SummerSlam last year, in a match which featured Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman as well.

Roman Reigns defeated The Beast to exact revenge at SummerSlam, and finally capture the WWE Universal Championship, which he had to sadly forfeit few weeks later.

#4 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has defeated Roman Reigns quite a few times!

Seth Rollins is one of the few superstars who has not faced the wrath of The Big Dog.

Seth Rollins attacked his brothers-in-arms, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, with a chair back in 2014.

Seth Rollins first defeated Roman Reigns in the main-event of WrestleMania 31, where he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract during a match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. Rollins again went on to defeat Reigns clean at MITB 2016 for the WWE Championship, before Ambrose cashed in his contract against Rollins.

Seth Rollins defeated Roman Reigns yet again in 2018, when he pinned The Big Dog during a gauntlet match. Rollins also defeated John Cena in the same match, becoming one of the few superstars to defeat Cena and Reigns clean.

Seth Rollins remains one of the few superstars Reigns could never defeat during his singles run!

#3 Bobby Lashley

The Almighty Bobby Lashley

The Almighty Bobby Lashley has not had a great run in WWE ever since he returned in April this year. Lacklustre feuds with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Elias have made Lashley's latest run a major disappointment.

However, Bobby Lashley surprisingly defeated Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules in July. He lost to Reigns the very next night on RAW, but still holds a clean pinfall victory over The Big Dog.

Bobby Lashley's puzzling booking has disappointed the fans throughout the year, but the victory over Reigns remains a major addition in his CV.

Lashley was touted as the next big thing ever since he debuted in 2006, but sadly has fallen prey to Vince McMahon's baffling treatment of the big man.

The Almighty Bobby Lashley is yet to find his feet on the main roster. Hopefully he does so soon, and becomes a major force.

#2 Braun Strowman

Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman had one of the most iconic rivalries in WWE throughout 2017. WWE built up two mega-money superstars and gave them an entertaining rivalry which featured stuff like ambulance flipping!

Braun Strowman lost to Roman Reigns at Fastlane 2017, which was his first ever pinfall loss in WWE. Strowman defeated Reigns clean at Payback later that year, and once again defeated him in an ambulance match at Great Balls of Fire.

Strowman remains one of the few superstars who was presented as a level competition for Roman Reigns. Strowman became one of the most beloved superstars during his feud with Reigns, and eventually turned babyface due to his vast popularity.

Strowman has still not won a singles championship in over five years with the company. Hopefully he does so in 2019!

#1 Finn Balor

Balor defeated Reigns on his very first night!
Balor defeated Reigns on his very first night!

Definitely the most surprising name on this list, Finn Balor, defeated Roman Reigns on his very first night in WWE. Balor, in his second match on the main roster, defeated Reigns clean to qualify for the Universal Championship match-up against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam 2016.

Balor was presented as a major superstar on his very first night, and seemed destined for great things in WWE. He won the Universal Championship, defeating Seth Rollins, but had to relinquish the championship the very next day.

Balor never reached the heights of his pre injury run, and has struggled to find a proper spot for himself on the main roster. Just like Strowman, Balor is yet to win a single championship ever since he vacated the Universal Championship.

Finn Balor arguably became the top babyface on RAW after Reigns' departure, and WWE should make sure they make him the star he deserves to be!
