EC3 is yet to make the impact he hoped for in WWE

As Derrick Bateman, the future Ethan Carter the Third was a fixture in the reality-show version of NXT, teaming with his pro, Daniel Bryan, at first, and later as his own star in Season 5.

After being released, Bateman joined Impact Wrestling as EC3, the cocky nephew of company co-founder Dixie Carter.

Playing on his aunt's nepotism, EC3 won the World Championship twice, before leaving and returning in the revamped NXT.

Only time will tell if his return to WWE will eclipse his success in the Tenessee company.
