When the wrestler Nailz outed Vince McMahon as someone who encourages wrestlers to take drugs in 1993, the WWE boss was in a hell of a lot of trouble. Nailz even alleged that Vince provided wrestlers with the steroids.

The FBI was looking at putting Vince away for 11 years for this crime and there looked to be no way out for the McMahon family patriarch.

Now, a sidebar, if you will. Why do you think Hulk Hogan received such a monster push and always remained in Vince’s good books despite his decision to jump ship to WCW and all that jazz?

Well, the first two points are connected. Just when it looked like it was all done for Vince, the Hulkster stepped up for McMahon. Being called as a witness for the FBI, Hogan decided to flip the script and declare that he himself had taken steroids but it was never because of Vince’s encouragement and that was the end of it.

McMahon was found not guilty of all charges and off he went to make the WWE into the global superpower it is today.
