The rivalry between Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar is widely regarded as one of the greatest feuds in WWE history. The two battled for the better part of 2003 and had some incredible matches. At WrestleMania 19, Lesnar defeated Angle to win the WWE title for the second time. Months later, Angle won it back at Vengeance 2003, in a Triple Threat match that also involved Big Show.
Lesnar soon turned heel and destroyed Angle on an episode of SmackDown. A Steel Cage match between Lesnar and Mr. McMahon ended with Lesnar turning on Angle, who was the special referee. At SummerSlam 2003, the two arch-rivals met again in a classic 20-minute back and forth. In the end, despite interference from Vince McMahon, Angle successfully locked the Ankle Lock on Lesnar and made him tap out. Lesnar would win back the title soon after, on an episode of WWE SmackDown. The two Superstars would engage in an hour-long Iron Man match, with Lesnar coming out victorious. Angle was working as a backstage producer in WWE for a while now and was recently released by the company.
