The Beast Incarnate has played a major role in Roman Reigns' rise

One of the major reasons behind the success of Roman Reigns in WWE has been the Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar. The critics say that a face cannot gain the support of the fans until the heel does not perform his job to perfection. Lesnar has been the perfect heel in Roman's story and the fans popped loudly when The Big Dog finally slayed the Beast at SummerSlam 2018.

But before that victory, Reigns had lost two matches to Brock Lesnar. His first defeat had taken everyone aback because a majority of the WWE Universe had predicted The Big Dog to defeat his opponent and win the Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 34. However, since not all fans were behind Roman, WWE allowed Brock to pick up the win and extend his domination.

Next, the two Superstars met each other in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-view. The Steel Cage match had ended in a controversial manner as the footage showed that Roman's feet had hit the floor first but Brock got the better of his opponent and retained the Championship because of the referee's wrong decision.
