Before NXT became the juggernaut that it is today, it was treated as a developmental brand where Superstars honed their skills before jumping to the main roster. Hence, to see NXT Superstars show up on a main roster pay-per-view event was a rarity.
However, former NXT Champion Big E Langston (as he was known at the time) made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 29 where he joined forces with Dolph Ziggler to take on Team Hell No for the WWE Tag Team titles. Big E was a regular fixture on WWE TV as he worked as Dolph Ziggler's henchman.
Although he featured regularly on WWE programming, he did not take part in a match until WrestleMania 29. Currently, Big E is a part of the New Day along with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods who hold the record for the longest Tag Team Championship reign in WWE history.
