Rhyno was one of the few Superstars in WWE to receive a great push in ECW and TNA. But when Rhyno started for Vince McMahon, he lost all his credibility and worked as a jobber.

He won the inaugural SmackDown Tag Team Championships alongside Heath Slater but their title reign came to an end after 83 days when they lost against The Wyatt Family. Since then Rhyno has not done much in WWE, so, when his contract ended in 2019, he left the company.

While the fans thought WWE did not offer to renew his contract, the former ECW Champion revealed that the company offered him a contract with a double paycheck but he rejected it to return to the independent wrestling circuit.

They actually offered me more than twice my downside [guarantee] but it wasn’t where they would have to use me because the downside is so large. It wasn’t about money – it was about me wanting to be on the road working.” (Source)
