WWE has a lot of contracts to renew before the end of the year

Dean Ambrose has been the hot news this week since it was reported that the former World Champion had opted to leave the company when his contract expires in April.

The Moral Compass of WWE has been at the forefront of storylines over the past few years, ever since his debut on the main roster back in 2012 which is why it's come as such a shock to the WWE Universe.

With AEW seemingly rising to power in the background and the newly founded company reported to have deeper pockets than The McMahon's the wrestling world is feeling the change in the air and many WWE superstars could make the decision to not renew their contracts in the coming months and follow Ambrose's lead.

The most recent reports suggest that WWE is pulling all stars aside and asking them to sign extensions if they have less than two years left on their current deals, the following list of stars have mere months left and some big decisions to make.

#5. Paige

Paige has been through a whirlwind in her wrestling career over the past few years, but it has been known for a long time that the British star's contract comes to an end later this year. Paige was most recently seen as the General Manager of SmackDown Live, but after The McMahon's took over, Paige was forced to step down.

The former Divas Champion was recently part of a WWE24 documentary and has a film about her life coming out later this month, so it wouldn't be smart for WWE to not try to pick up on the hype surrounding Paige over the next few months.

Paige doesn't currently have a role on WWE TV and it is unknown as to whether or not she will return as an active member of the locker room, but the next few months will definitely be interesting for the former General Manager.

#4. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson could opt to leave WWE in September.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson came to WWE back in 2016 with so much hope and hype and once again they have become a forgettable tag team that is lost in the shuffle of the main roster.

The Club had so much promise with unions with AJ Styles and Finn Balor enough to push them forward for a time, but now much like many other teams including The Fashion Police, The Shining Stars, and even The Ascension, Gallows and Anderson have been forgotten.

Their contracts officially come to an end in September 2019, but it will be interesting to see if WWE are able to convince the two stars to resign with the company before this date or if much like Hideo Itami, they are able to negotiate an early release so that they can join their NJPW friends at AEW.

AJ Styles has been the name that many of the WWE Universe has been questioning over the past few weeks since it's become common knowledge that Styles is still yet to sign a new WWE contract.

The former World Champion's contract expires in April surrounding WrestleMania season and he is another superstar that the company is worried about losing to their competition. Styles only debuted in WWE three years ago at The Royal Rumble and has already been able to become a top star in WWE, holding the WWE Championship for the best part of 2018.

The issue with Styles is that he is approaching the point in his career where he wants to spend time at home and watch his kids grow up and no amount of money will be able to convince him to stay if he wants to walk away.

#2. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States Championship back from Rusev at The Royal Rumble, but merely two days later The Artist was defeated by R-Truth on SmackDown Live. It could be argued that this is WWE's punishment for Nakamura not signing a new contract with his current one set to end later this year but that is currently unknown.

Nakamura has definitely been on a decline since he was promoted to the main roster and despite winning the men's Royal Rumble match last year he was unable to defeat AJ Styles on a number of separate occasions to become WWE Champion.

The Artist has since been stuck in the mid-card where he has battled for the United States Championship for the best part of the year, despite proving his worth throughout his time in NXT as a former two-time Champion.

Matt Hardy is currently on hiatus from WWE, after suffering from a unique injury back in the summer of 2018 that has kept him sidelined, but his brother Jeff Hardy has continued to push his career forward on SmackDown Live and now steps into Elimination Chamber next month to fight for the WWE Championship.

Matt and Jeff Hardy returned to WWE to a thunderous ovation at WrestleMania 33 almost two years ago and the two siblings opted to sign a two-year deal at the time with an option to extend their deal for a third year.

There is no news yet on if Matt and Jeff Hardy are ready to extend their current contracts to WrestleMania 36 since right now their deal is set to expire in April, which could be why Matt Hardy is now pushing for a comeback.
