Once his match with Mustafa Ali at Fastlane ended, Riddle's direction for WrestleMania 37 was up in the air. He was originally supposed to be involved with Keith Lee during the United States Championship program at Elimination Chamber. Lee has unfortunately been off TV since Royal Rumble.

It only took a chance encounter backstage with Sheamus for that direction to manifest. Riddle will now be making his debut at The Show of Shows by defending the US Championship against Sheamus at WrestleMania 37.

Sheamus has done some of his best work in WWE during his feud with Drew McIntyre. His angle with Jeff Hardy last year wasn't anything special, but working alongside his real-life friend inside the ring has reinvigorated The Celtic Warrior.
His matches with McIntyre, Lashley, and even Lee have been hard-hitting slugfests to showcase each man's toughness. For that reason, getting a shot at Riddle and the US Championship at WrestleMania 37 might be a reward for Sheamus.
Since Fastlane, Mustafa Ali has been a minor character in the feud between the Original Bro and The Celtic Warrior. He fought Riddle once more on the go-home episode of RAW before WrestleMania 37. He and Sheamus would be an interesting pairing, but it appears Ali may be done with Riddle.
The Celtic Warrior is a former US Champ, and it would be poetic if he won that title again at WrestleMania 37. It wasn't too long ago that his WWE future was in doubt due to a diagnosis of spinal stenosis.
That ailment is also what forced Paige and Edge to retire prematurely. The Rated-R Superstar had surgery and was able to return to action at the 2020 Royal Rumble. Paige, on the other hand, has been forced to remain on the sidelines ever since she was diagnosed with spinal stenosis.
Whatever happens, it is somewhat of a modern marvel for Sheamus to still be wrestling. Since he's helped sell rivalries with McIntyre and Lashley over the last few months, he'll get his own spotlight at WrestleMania 37 against Riddle.
It's Riddle's first big match at The Show of Shows as every title is defended at or right before the biggest show of the year. WrestleMania 37 is filled with many matches, but this one could steal the show.
