It has been close to half a year since Mustafa Ali last appeared on SmackDown. There has to be a storyline reason for it, as he is too talented to ignore. Ali might be linked to the ongoing WWE hacker angle, which has cooled off in recent weeks. It remains to be seen if he does end up being a part of that storyline.

If the former 205 Live star does turn out to be the hacker, expect an immediate push near the top of the card for him. This could turn Ali into a main-eventer or at the very least, lead to a run with the Intercontinental Championship for him. He is good enough to hold the title.
After a pretty rough 2019, Mustafa Ali needs to come out swinging when he returns. Hopefully, he can regain the momentum that nearly got him a full-on WWE Championship program with Daniel Bryan.
There are many different directions he could go once he is back on WWE TV, with the hacker storyline being the most likely one at the moment. Ali would be a great Intercontinental Champion on the blue brand, similar to whoever wins between Bryan and AJ Styles on this week's SmackDown.
