The Miz becoming WWE Champion this year may seem like a long shot to happen, but is it really?

There are several ways WWE could book The Miz to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on Drew McIntyre without the Scotsman looking like a chump. It could further the tension between him and Sheamus, or simply come at an opportunistic time at TLC itself.

WWE quietly added the TLC stipulation to McIntyre's WWE Championship match against AJ Styles at the event without any true reason to do so. Perhaps, it may have been done so that The Miz could insert himself in the match and win the title by simply climbing the ladder and retrieving it.

Granted, Sheamus and Omos would likely be at ringside, but WWE could book around that for Miz to escape with the title. It would be a true surprise at an event that could do with some surprises. Seeing him win the WWE Championship for the first time since he has become a true WWE star would be great.

The Miz could have a month-long reign as WWE Champion before dropping it back to Drew McIntyre at Royal Rumble. If fans are allowed back for that one event, it makes sense for The Scottish Warrior to be the challenger heading into the Rumble. His third world title victory could feature the pop that was meant for his first one.
