Has Momentum #5: Kofi Kingston

One of the best feel good stories to come out of Wrestlemania 35 was the championship triumph of Kofi Kingston.

The long-tenured Kingston had enjoyed many mid card and tag team title reigns, but had never won 'the big one.' In the WWE, that means either the Universal championship on Raw or the WWE Championship on Smackdown Live.

Kofi's sudden rise to the main event was predicated upon the injury of Ali, who had to bow out of the Elimination Chamber match. By design or by accident, the WWE's 'micro push' of Kofi during Smackdown Live, in which he won a gauntlet match to qualify for the Elimination Chamber event, made him the most popular superstar on the Smackdown brand.

Now he can finally heft the big belt over his head with pride, because he's won the 'big one.' Does that mean greater things ahead in the coming year?

Why he has momentum: Kofi is enjoying the biggest push of his career, and judging by the fan's reaction to it he will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
