Hulk Hogan's first WrestleMania main event came at the very first WrestleMania pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in 1985. Hulk Hogan teamed up with Mr. T. to take on the tag team of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff.

This led to Yokozuna's manager Mr. Fuji challenging Hogan to face Yokozuna for the WWE Championship immediately. In a match that lasted only 22 seconds, Hulk Hogan shocked Yokozuna and became the new WWE Champion, much to the delight of the WWE Universe in attendance.
