Before his debut on the main roster as Billy and Chuck's eccentric stylist, Rico was considered a prodigy in developmental despite his age. Rico only started training to be a wrestler in his late 30's and was spotted by WWE officials in 1999 and signed to a deal. He won a number of titles in developmental and later moved to the main roster in 2002.

Rico did find success in the WWE, winning the WWE Tag-Team Championships twice. He was unexpectedly released from his WWE contract in 2004.

Another highlight the Rico can look back on is that he was a win over none other than 'The Beast' Brock Lesnar. In 2001, when they were both still in OVW, Rico beat Brock Lesnar in a dark match ahead of television tapings.
