In one of the four 'Champion vs. Champion' matches at WWE Survivor Series 2020, Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn took on the United States Champion Bobby Lashley. It was reported earlier that the match would see Bobby Lashley squash Sami Zayn.

Even though Sami Zayn is much better than Bobby Lashley, they’re gonna work it as a squash.

While it was indeed Bobby Lashley who emerged victorious at WWE Survivor Series 2020, the match wasn't really a squash. The Hurt Business got involved in the proceedings and distracted Zayn on multiple occasions, slightly assisting Lashley. All this combined with Sami Zayn getting some offense and the match lasting nearly eight minutes, it wasn't a complete squash at WWE Survivor Series 2020.

WWE hasn't really done a good job with booking Sami Zayn as the Intercontinental Champion. He has immense potential to put magnificent matches every night and while WWE needs to maintain his heel nature, booking him as a coward champion isn't necessarily the best option for a roster that has several deserving Superstars. As for Bobby Lashley, he continues to dominate Monday Night RAW, but the focus is hardly on his US title - something that needs to be fixed.
