Over the past couple of months, Sonya Deville has been a revelation on SmackDown. She has thrived in the empty arena environment, cutting some great promos on her former best friend, Mandy Rose. However, one has to wonder if Deville would have been given a similar opportunity under normal circumstances, had the Queen of the Ring tournament gone ahead.

Either way, she has constantly improved in the ring over the years. Deville would have been a dark horse pick for the Queen of the Ring tournament, especially if WWE's goal would be to build new stars. The former MMA fighter feels like a star right now and it is only a matter of furthering her current momentum on the Blue brand for WWE.

Deville and Rose are still feuding right now and maybe, Queen of the Ring would have played a part in their angle. A more sports-based concept would definitely favor her. Sonya Deville may have been subject to a massive push in the tournament anyway, thanks to her incredible work in the entire WrestleMania love saga.
