Ric Flair returned to RAW in November 2016, six months after he was disowned by his daughter, to celebrate Sasha Banks' victory over Charlotte in a title match on November 28 episode. Ric Flair walked into the ring and raised Banks' hand after she dedicated her win to The Nature Boy.

A week later, Charlotte Flair stood in the ring to speak about losing the title that meant everything to her. The Queen stated that losing the championship, though, was not as hard as seeing her father stand in the ring raising Sasha's hand. On the verge of tears, she said that all she wanted was her father's approval and for him to be proud of her.

Charlotte invited her dad down to the ring to give him a heartfelt apology, but it was not exactly what he received.
The former RAW Women's Champion apologized to her father, hugged him, and then slapped him brutally, throwing him into the corner. Banks tried to interfere, but the former champion destroyed her before Ric Flair's crying eyes.
