Damian Priest is looking for revenge on Finn Balor after the latter betrayed him at SummerSlam and cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. At the same time, Priest and JD McDonagh exchanged words last Monday on RAW and had a match that ended with Priest delivering a South of Heaven chokeslam to McDonagh.
The former World Heavyweight Champion wants to take Balor out and has his sights set not only on a singles match with The Prince but on a match against Finn and JD for the World Tag Team Championship.
To dethrone the reigning champions, though, Damian Priest will need to find a tag team partner. A veteran superstar with unfinished business with The Judgment Day might be the solution. This veteran star is R-Truth.
R-Truth has unfinished business with JD McDonagh
R-Truth attempted to become part of The Judgment Day, but the other members of the faction were not very thrilled about his addition. Especially JD McDonagh.
The two even had a match on RAW in early February, as McDonagh wanted R-Truth out of The Judgment Day. Eventually, the latter left, with Carlito taking his place a few months later.
Thus, given the unfinished business with JD McDonagh, it would make sense for WWE to have R-Truth step up and side with Damian Priest.
R-Truth wants to take revenge from The Judgment Day for Tag Team titles loss
R-Truth and The Miz lost the Tag Team titles to Finn Balor and JD McDonagh after a distraction from Liv Morgan, which helped JD and Finn prevail and become the new champions.
Fast forward to today, the 52-year-old star would seek revenge on Finn and JD and a chance to reclaim the Tag Team titles, especially now that the reigning Women's World Champion has replaced Rhea Ripley in the faction.
Damian Priest can't rely on Jey Uso and Sami Zayn to form a tag team
R-Truth could be a decent option for Damian Priest if he goes after Finn Balor and JD McDonagh for the Tag Team titles, given his history with The Judgment Day.
At the same time, he could be his sole option, as Sami Zayn and Jey Uso are expected to team up and go after the titles as well. At the same time, it is likely they will move to SmackDown and side with Roman Reigns in his upcoming feud with Solo Sikoa and the new version of The Bloodline.
