AJ Lee's WWE departure seemingly sparked the Women's Revolution in 2015. The former Champion retired from the company, leaving Paige to fend for herself in a feud against The Bella Twins. The void led to several NXT call-ups who changed the face of the division.
Before stepping back into the Women's Division to challenge for the Diva's Championship, Lee was part of several high-profile storylines with Kane, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, and Dolph Ziggler.

Since walking away from WWE in 2015, Lee has switched careers and is now a New York Times Best Selling Author. Her husband, CM Punk, recently noted that her neck injury was one of the main reasons for her retirement, which could be why she has opted against making a return to WWE.
