It is not uncommon for WWE Superstars to create factions and stables to either improve their chances of dominating their opponents or have a better opportunity to challenge for tag team gold. From the Evolution to The Shield to The New Day, each faction and stable had its agenda and goals to achieve.

Still, not all of them lasted for such a long time, with many breaking up, as several superstars were released or left the Stamford-based company after their contracts expired.

With that in mind, we take a look at six current WWE Superstars who are the last ones standing from formerly released factions/stables.

#6. Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville was once part of the Absolution with Mandy Rose and Paige, now known as Saraya, who was the leader of the group. Even though they had high potential, Paige's injuries prevented them from dominating the women's division and it led to Rose and Deville becoming a tag team.

Rose and Paige have left the company and Sonya Deville remains the only member of the former faction who still works for the company.

Cody Rhodes once formed a stable with The Ascension, called the Cosmic Wasteland, but they did not have much to offer, aside from some interesting promos.

Their partnership ended abruptly once Rhodes left WWE in 2016, while The Ascension stayed with the company until 2019. The American Nightmare, however, returned to the Stamford-based company in 2022 and is now the current Undisputed WWE Champion.

#4. Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy)

Bo Dallas was once a member of The Social Outcasts, alongside Adam Rose, Curtis Axel, and Heath Slater. The faction was created in January of 2016. They offered some funny moments but did not achieve anything bigger than that and split up a few months later.

Bo Dallas is the only member of the former faction left in the Stamford-based company. He recently returned as Uncle Howdy with a new faction named The Wyatt Sicks, which is a tribute to his late brother, Bray Wyatt.

#3. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre was once part of the 3MB faction which was created in October 2012 alongside Jinder Mahal and Heath Slater.

It did not make any difference and split up eventually. Mahal and McIntyre left WWE in 2014 but returned a few years later. Out of the three, Drew McIntyre is the only one left from the former faction and has emerged as a world title contender and a major star in the company.

#2. Wade Barrett

Nexus was a faction that was created in June 2010 and consisted of seven members, namely Michael Tarver, Mason Ryan, Darren Young, Daniel Bryan, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Curtis Axel, the late Bray Wyatt, Ryback, and Wade Barrett.

The Nexus split after 14 months (August 2011) and Wade Barrett is the only one left from the former stable, working as a commentator on SmackDown.

#1. Mia Yim

Mia Yim was once part of the Retribution faction, which consisted of six members and was led by Mustafa Ali. The faction debuted in 2020 but split up a year later.

Five of the six members of the former faction have left the company, while Mia Yim is the only one left and is currently performing on SmackDown. She was competing under the Reckoning name during her time with the Retribution.
