Goldberg has appeared on both RAW and SmackDown in the past few months. Prior to that, the WCW legend briefly feuded with Drew McIntyre in January 2021. The two wrestlers then went head-to-head for the WWE Championship at the 2021 Royal Rumble. However, The Scottish Warrior came out on top.
After a few months of absence, Goldberg returned to Monday Night RAW last July to challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE title. The two powerhouses feuded for a few months and faced each other twice. While Lashley defeated Goldberg at SummerSlam, he lost to the Hall of Famer at Crown Jewel.

Goldberg disappeared from television for nearly four months after Crown Jewel. He then made a surprise return on SmackDown earlier this month to challenge Universal Champion Roman Reigns for his title at Elimination Chamber.
The 55-year-old made a few appearances on the blue brand before the two squared off in Saudi Arabia in a match that The Tribal Chief won.
While Goldberg's current status is unclear, it seems he has the freedom to appear on both SmackDown and RAW. Hence, he is also considered a free agent.
