WWE's viewership has been declining lately due to the company's product being stale. The fans have completely given up on watching both shows. The reason is that there is nothing new about the current product, it's the same old storylines and faces that have been running the company but most importantly no new faces are being pushed.
The company has been making constant efforts to change their product and make it look interesting for all the fans. Still, there seems to be no major increase in the WWE TV ratings. From the past few weeks, the ratings have went down by less than two million views which could be a troubling sign for the industry.
This can be changed if WWE pushes some of the fan favorites to top positions. So, here are six favorite stars of the fans who could be pushed to increase the WWE TV ratings.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#6 Cesaro
Cesaro was recently split from Sheamus after they became a popular tag team in WWE. The duo were known as The Bar and were former five time Tag Team Champions. Due to the injury of Sheamus, The Swiss Superman was drafted to Raw as a singles competitor once again. He has still not done anything much since going solo and WWE should push him.
He was one of the most popular stars when he returned after WrestleMania 32, but still the company never pulled the trigger on him. In the past, Vince McMahon has made comments regarding Cesaro not reaching the brass ring. WWE should give Cesaro one more chance by giving him a decent push which will bring in the Cesaro Section.
# Rusev
Remember Rusev Day? It was one of the most popular gimmicks in WWE last year until the company ruined it. The group consisted of three members; Aiden English, Lana and Rusev himself. All three of them had their own parts such as English introducing Rusev and Lana with his singing. Lana was more of a cheerleader and Rusev was the main part of the act.
Soon WWE broke the group after English turned on Rusev and Lana. The storyline went nowhere and it landed English into a commentary role few months later for 205 Live. As for Rusev, he turned heel once again and aligned himself with Shinsuke Nakamura. It's time WWE brings back Rusev Day to increase the TV ratings.
#4 Shinsuke Nakamura
Speaking of Shinsuke Nakamura, another popular figure in WWE upon his arrival to the main roster from NXT. Just like every other NXT star, the company failed to utilize him properly. They kept pushing him to the main event scene where he kept losing until he turned heel during his feud with AJ Styles. From there his fall down the card began.
Even now WWE can change all of the mistakes they have made with Nakamura's character by turning him into a babyface once again. This would not only help Nakamura to climb back to the main event picture but also increase the declining WWE TV ratings. Also, it will keep Nakamura with the company for the foreseeable future.
#3 Ricochet
Before his arrival in WWE, Ricochet was one of the most popular indie stars in the wrestling business. His in-ring performance along with his character was beloved by the fans around the world. Ricochet had a short run in NXT before getting called-up to the main roster around three months ago.
He was one of the participants in the men's Money in the Bank ladder match this year but couldn't win the contract. The company cannot waste a talent like Ricochet, they have to properly give him a solid push. Maybe firstly in the mid-card scene and then slowly push him to the main event scene. He can definitely bring in some indie fans to the WWE TV.
#2 Ali
It was rumored that Ali was suppose to win the men's Money in the Bank ladder match before the plans changed and the winner ended up being Brock Lesnar. The company has been high on the star ever since he shifted from 205 Live to SmackDown. He was also expected to get the push Kofi Kingston received after he suffered an injury.
But WWE is reportedly still high on him and could give him a push in future. Well, that push should be taking place right now due to the declining TV ratings. Since Ali is a fan favorite, the fans would be excited to see him in the main event picture. If not that, he can also be a mid-card champion for the time being.
#1 Braun Strowman
This man was one of the hottest stars of the WWE in 2017, but all of that came to an end after he was pushed to the main event scene. As whenever Braun Strowman gets a huge push, the company backs off from giving it to him. There have been various instances where he was pushed down the card after trying to reach the top position.
Now, there have been rumors that Vince McMahon doesn't view Strowman as the main star anymore. Still, he needs to push him in order to increase the WWE TV ratings. As it was seen in his 2017 run, the viewership of Raw was steady and most of that has to be credited to Strowman. Even this year could be the same, if the company decides to push him.
