#3 William Regal
When looking back over the history of wrestling and assessing all-time greats in anything, William Regal is far too often left out of the discussion. Regal could entertain on the microphone whether he happened to be working as a heel or as a face.
As a heel, he had an uncanny ability to fill his promos and dialogue with menace and vitriol. He could make you scared for whoever his opponent was going to be or whoever he was addressing because his diction and how he sounded made bad things seem imminent for that other person.
Regal’s greatest strength as a talker was his work as a face when he would get extremely angered at whoever he was addressing. It’s hard to pick out moments where Regal was actually bad on the mic.
